With the E-News Rats whooping and hollaring about Carmen Gonzalez, they conveniently skim over their own fellow rat, Gilbert Enriquez.
You see Rat Pena cried out that Gilbert Enriquez should not have any conflict with his current and future ECISD contracts and his current bid for ECISD School Board. However, usisng their own research, Enriquez should abandon all contracts if elected or, in his best interest, drop out of the race and keep the contracts. As stated in the Monitor, "Delays continue on new Edinburg City Hall," Gilbert Enriquez [is still the] executive vice president of the contracting firm.
As stated in their own research, "Similarly, an attorney general opinion concluded that a school district could not contract with a company that employed a member of the district's board of trustees. Even though the trustee derived no direct financial benefit from the contract, he still had an interest in the success of his employer."
Hey Gilbert, why don't you release your personal and Enriquez Enterprises financials to see how much you made off of ECISD?

Why don't you ask another question.. Why is it that Gilbert Enriquez's wife quit the district when Gilbert didn't run anymore but now she is back. Not just that, Robert, Greg and Jaime pushed for her to be hired exactly 6 months and 1 week before the election. Nepotism law states that she can't be employed within 6 months of him getting elected. Here's the kicker though, once she is in, she can be promoted to any position. Is it just me or does anyone else see her being promoted to a position in administration if Gilbert were to be elected? I'm still also concerned about Gilbert and Robert Pena looking for side deals for construction projects. I heard that they had already asked a vendor for baseball tickets.
So who exactly is this Carlos Ramos who is running against Ciro Trevino? From what I heard, he was a cafeteria worker who was promoted to a security guard and given a pay increase by J.L. Salinas after he and another fellow security guard took a week off of work to haul votes in for Jaime Chavana, Gus Garcia, Joe Ochoa and Gilbert Mercado in an election a couple of years ago. He also did the same thing for Greg Garcia, Robert Pena when they ran and he was promised another promotion and pay raise, but because they did not have the majority on the board, they couldn't keep their promise. What are his other accomplishments and contrubuions to the school district? Absolutely nothing. But, when someone pays you $15,000.00 to run for the board, what else can you do? I'm suprised he even was able to sign his own letter of intent. Now, what is the first order of business for Jaime, Greg and Robert if they were to get the majority in this election? Well the obvious is possibly securing contracts for their friends and lining their pockets with kickbacks and MORE tickets to baseball games. There is supposedly a situation where Coach Alaniz, the former athletic director, can't remember if he resigned or not. Accoring to the monitor, he has all kinds of outrageous claims but if you ask me, long story short, all he is really out for is to try to suck out a few hundred thousand dollars of taxpayer money for even more work that he didn't do.
It's also my understanding that Robert, Greg, Jaime and Gilbert Enriquez are using unkowing citizens to try and dig up all kinds of information to see what they can come up with. The fact really is, the district is finally headed in the right direction and these guys are having a really hard time finding the kickbacks that they used to get cause they don't have the votes. Why else would they go through the expense and go through all the trouble to dig up as much dirt as they can? I can tell you, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the children of the district. It has nothing to do with the employees... wait I take that last one back! Only the people who bought votes in for them will be promoted. Just think about it this way. When Greg, Jaime, and Gilbert Enriquez were in the majority, we had one of the highest paid superintendents in the valley, the highest paid coaches in the valley, we had the highest paid janitors in the valley (there was even a waiting list to come over) we had the highest paid secrataries in central office (some who were getting paid more than teachers), yet we had the LOWEST paid teachers, principals and music teachers in the valley. We were overcroweded in our schools, but before anymore schools were built, they had to spend millions and millions building a new administration building with a state of the art board room with all the bells and whistles.
If Carmen did no wrong then don't worry about it. But we can all see that she has. And what does Ciro bring to the table? He has to ask Carmen how to vote. She promised him to name a building after his late son. Seems to me that Carmen is not what we all thought she would be. She is nothing more than a rat!

While trying to obtain a contract with the school district, it was announced that Gilbert Enriquez WAS NOT the owner, merely an employee of Gilbert Enriquez Enterprises. When the question of the conflict of interest because of his candidacy to the school board and the pending contract came up, his buddies, Robert Pena and Jaime Chavana quickly came to his defense to make sure people understood that he didn't own Gilbert Enriquez Enterprises (I know, doesn't make sense to me either but they take everyone for the fools they themselves are).
Well, David Diaz who has always shown to favor those candidates announced that Gilbert Enriquez was going to have a campaign kickoff. Read it for yourself:

"A local company was awarded the lowest bid of $30,000 to install security systems throughout the dist. At last night's meeting there was an amendment to this contract for another $30,000. That would bring the total contract to $60,000 to install security systems. Of course this was granted by Carmen and her three idiots. Because this person is a big Carmen Gonzalez supporter."
The thing that E-News missed was this ammendment was made to replace not just fix FIRE ALARMS. Now when Eddie Saenz asked for $60,000 to provide ambulance service for football games, Jaime, Greg and Robert not only wanted the measure passed, they wanted it passed NO QUESTIONS ASKED. I guess only athletes are important to these guys, not the general population of the school district. But asking a couple of board members it was a UNANIMOUS vote, not a 4-3 vote.
