Can you hear it ... the FBI is coming. As stated in the June 05, 2007 "Multiple School Leaders Arrested" NewsChannel 5 report, the FBI brought down a 22-count indictment against many of the PSJA ISD Board Members and Administration.
Included are PSJA ISD Superintendent Arturo Guajardo, PSJA school board Secretary/Treasurer Raul "Roy" Navarro, PSJA school board member Rogelio "Roy" Rodriguez, PSJA school board member Vangie De Leon, De Leon's husband Richard De Leon, and Donna school president George Hernandez.
Further, Arnulfo "Arnie" Oliveraz, an insurance agent, was also arrested.
But wait, there's more! The FBI is not done. They are coming to Edinburg to look at some of the 1997 - 2005 ECISD School Board members and Administration.

Rep. Ortiz tidies up after another gaffe He and his state Senate colleague, Juan 'Chuy' Hinojosa, belatedly back away from RTA insurance scheme.
Rep. Solomon Ortiz Jr. says his decision to ask Gov. Rick Perry to veto his own bill that would give the appointed board members of the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority the same health, dental and life insurance as RTA employees at taxpayer expense is the result of listening to criticism. Too bad that a sense of what public service is supposed to be about didn't prompt young Ortiz, in his first term, to decline to carry the bill in the first place.
Much the same disappointment goes for Sen. Juan "Chuy" Hinojosa, a veteran legislator who carried the bill in the Senate and who should have known better.
The appointed board members of the Regional Transportation Authority, too, have had a change of heart. After unanimously voting in January for the RTA's legislative agenda that included the insurance benefits, they are expected to rescind their support today for the measure and ask that the governor ditch the bill. The bill, HB 2622, deserves to die under the governor's veto pen.
The bill amounted to nothing less than an attempt to feather the nest of board members at taxpayer expense under the disingenuous assertion that having the insurance benefit would, as RTA chairman Roland Barrera said in a letter, "enable the Board members to become more familiar with the health insurance and benefits plans made available to RTA employees and gain a greater appreciation for the issues faced by the RTA with increasing health costs." This education for board members would come at the expense of the taxpaying public; covering an individual board member would cost the RTA nearly $4,500 a year; insuring a board member's family, an option, would cost more than $8,000 a year. A major medical claim would put the cost to the public even higher, not to mention the more expensive claim experience that would have to be borne in the future premiums of RTA employees.
The RTA bill now makes the second Ortiz-sponsored measure in which there has been backtracking by the first-term legislator after the public spotlight fell on controversial legislation. The other measure was one that would have retroactively eliminated Nueces County's need to read certain construction bids publicly at a time when county commissioners were being sued for not reading bids publicly. Ortiz amended the bill and it eventually died. This has made for an inauspicious beginning for Ortiz's legislative career.

Here's a news report I just saw.....instead of posting on PSJA, you need to brung up this RUDY DELGADO issue! WTH? Post a new blog so you can hear different opinions. I don't know the man, but if I or most valley residents were pulled over for DUI and did whatever he did, I'm sure I would not get taxpayers to pay me his huge salary for not working and then get charges dropped. Get your facts right and don't rely on faggot Will Ripley's Rene Guerra-fed propaganda. The law requires that judges be suspended with pay. It's an automatic suspension. Furthermore, judges aren't allowed to hold down other jobs so their situation more or less dictates the suspension with pay. Our society presumes people innocent until proven guilty. So all that he was at the time was an accused citizen. Nothing more.
The reason the case took so long was because Rene Guerra insisted on his (by his own admission) groundless motion to recuse Judge Bobby Flores. The Regional Administrative Presiding Judge, Darrel Hester, denied the motion. Then Guerra's office filed a Motion to Reconsider. Hester died. Then our wonderful dumbass Aggie of a Governor took two years to appoint Hester's succession. (Why? because he wanted to hold open the plum to reward Rose Vela in case she lost her effort to unseat Fred Hinojosa. Just shows you the power of the Vela family.) Finally, in January, when Gov. Dumbass appointed Judge J.M. Banales as the Administrative Presiding Judge, there was finally someone to hear the Motion to Reconsider the Motion to Recuse. (Banales, like Hester before him, has a reputation as a above board, sanctamonious jackass so he wouldn't have shielded Delgado or Flores if the Motion had grounds.) The DA's Office then admitted that the Motion to Recuse was groundless and that they had just filed it to see if it would work.
One thing further that Motions to Recuse do is that they strip the presiding judge of the ability to do anything during while the Motion is pending. And with no administrative judge in place, Judge Flores couldn't even recuse himself because there wasn't someone to receive and approve his sua sponte recusal.
So you want to blame someone for Judge Delgado getting paid for two years for no work, blame that idiot governor of ours and blame Rene Guerra for not taking Judge Hester's no for an answer.

Once again, get your facts straight. Paris Hilton was placed on probation. She didn't comply with the order to get drug counseling or do community service. The judge revoked her probation and sentenced her to jail.
Delgado is innocent until proven guilty. He wasn't convicted of anything.
Secondly, on a similar issue, I read the comments posted on The Monitor web page after stories. I don't know but it is offensive for a CONVICTED DRUNK DRIVER like ex-Sheriff Deputy Robert L.
