The above quote was stated in the April 30, 2007 "Edinburg school board member threatened" article in The Monitor.
ECISD Board Member David Torres "says someone threatened to burn down his business in connection with a controversial athletic department reassignment." David Torres went on to say, "I think this is just outrageous," adding he is worried for his wife, children and employees. "I think it is the lowest form of politics, or whatever you want to call it."
I thought all night and day who could be behind the act and I could only come up with one answer. Robert Pena Jr. and his Edinburg News site have attacked Melba Gonzalez, Carmen Gonzalez and now David Torres. So now, who is next? Not Greg Garcia or Jaime Chavana, they support Robert Pena Jr.
As stated in the April 30, 2007 "School Board Member Being Threatened" NewsChannel 5 report, David Torres says the threat is "directed at a decision made by our superintendent about the athletic director and ... he supports the superintendent's decision. He adds he's not scared by the threats and he's not backing down."
As stated in the April 30, 2007 "Edinburg School Trustee Threatened With Note, Gasoline" Team 4 News report, Irene Mercado, an Edinburg resident, mother of twice unsucessful ECISD candidate Gilbert Mercado, stated "That's very serious when you threaten somebody like that ... [but] I don't think it's anything that has anything to do with the elections -- something personal probably." Can't the woman read? Even Mario Lopez and Robert Alaniz say its political.
I think its interesting how Team 4 News found Irene Mercado to do the sole interview. I wonder which connection they have ... **cough** Joe **cough**.

The bottomline is that this site will never be a "fair-game" site. He chooses to publish things about some political families and then doesn't publish about others. It is an agenda that he has. The bottomline is that earn has some sort of connections to law records. He/she either works in a lawyers office or at a law inforcement office. He calls it freedom of information, but it would be extremely hard for a normal citizen to get these records.
If he was just an ordinary person getting these records, he would have been identified. Someone would have been able to identify him for getting legal documents.
I don't think Earn gets his information any differently than they do at Edinburg News. The only difference is, the people who supply Earn with information, supply Earn with the documents to back it up. On the other hand, the people from Edinburg News rely on rumors, lies and third hand information with no documentation to back up their claims. That's really the only difference. I'll tell you what, if the folks at Edinburg News want Earn to do a picece on someone, just e-mail Earn the information that they have and Earn will decide if it's blog worthy or not. From what I have seen so far, E-News had one piece of information supplied to them by Robert Pena in order to damage Carmen Gonzalez's credibility, but failed miserably on how they decided to report it. They made it out to be something it wasn't and lost all their credibility doing it.

My original blogs are all linked to newspapers or newsreports. They are also linked to laws and other government websites. When I link back to my previous blogs, I do so only so that everyone else can reread that blog and know why I am making the new statement.
As for being unbiased, I don't censor my comments, hide them or erase them completely. In that respect, I write my article and everyone else is entitled to give their own opinion. I would like to see Edinburg News or Edinburgpolitics.com do that.
As for getting peoples names and addresses, it's called yellowbook.com or 411.com or this little known invention called the Internet. All other matters are reported from the news and I place my opinion.
How do I get cell numbers? Namely, Cynthia Lucio's? She put it on the mass e-mail that she sent. It is not rocket science. And if you must know, there are other public information websites that you only have to pay two dollars a month to use.
Finally, to Denise. The reason I started this blog was to stop polliticians and those who politic from spreading lies by exposing their comments for the lies that they are. I also expanded this blog to be a political commentary site. The House passed Phil King’s HB 626 substitute by a vote of 87-59. From the DMN:

Actually, it's not a lie, I was there this morning when it happened. It happened right in front of the administration building during the early vote. That's really embarrassing. Here he is preaching about fiscal responsibility on long range financail planning and can't even manage his own finances.
Repossessed? Funny I was there this morning as well and the truck that was hauled away was NOT Robert Pena's Truck. Funny how you people think that any white truck with a Pena sign must automatically belong to Robert Pena. And second, the truck was not hauled away for any fiscal purposes. The truck was facing mechanical issues and needed to be towed to the shop. You really need to get your facts straight!
